"Carbosulfan is an organic compound with insecticidal properties. In soil, it has a half life of 1-3 years, but on the surface only 39 days. Carbosulfan has been banned in the EU since 2007. It's a carbamate pesticide, and thus highly unstable & toxic to humans. However, it's still frequently handles & used by people all over the globe for a myriad of reasons. Here, a Maasai herder reveals his personal carbosulfan stash after using it to poison & kill a hyena that had preyed on his goats. Before I learned exactly how toxic carbosulfan was, I saw this image in a magazine while hunting for collage parts & immediately wanted to swatch the bubblegum-sweet looking powder against my dark skin like makeup. That pink would pop really beautifully against my Blackness...and then it would probably kill me. Isn't it crazy? Pretty things are often so damned dangerous." -B.N. Blithe de Carona
